Mark Kahley has nearly two decades of experience in insurance litigation and has spent his career working on both sides of insurance disputes. Before representing policyholders, Mark spent more than a decade defending some of the nation’s largest insurance companies, giving him firsthand insight into how carriers evaluate claims, approach litigation, and prepare for trial.
Early in his career, Mark worked directly with a regional insurance carrier before moving into insurance defense, where he built extensive courtroom and trial experience. In 2018, he switched sides and began representing individuals and businesses in disputes with their insurance companies. He has focused on policyholder representation ever since
Today at Payne Law, Mark draws on that experience to help clients with denied, underpaid, and disputed insurance claims. Having worked inside the insurance industry, defended carriers, and now representing policyholders, he understands these cases from every side and uses that perspective to anticipate challenges and build stronger cases for his clients.
Mark earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Florida and his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. He has been a member of The Florida Bar since 2007 and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
