About Corey Justus

A lifelong Orlando resident, Corey Justus represents policyholders in high-stakes first-party property insurance disputes. After earning both his B.S. in Accounting & Finance and his J.D. from Florida State University, Mr. Justus returned home to begin his career as a prosecutor at the Orange County State Attorney’s Office. There, he tried numerous cases to verdict and developed the courtroom judgment and advocacy skills that continue to anchor his practice.

Mr. Justus later joined one of Florida’s largest defense firms, litigating on behalf of insurers and corporate defendants in complex claim disputes. That defense-side experience gives him a practical, inside view of carrier strategies—insight he now leverages for homeowners and businesses. In 2019, he transitioned to the plaintiff’s bar, focusing on first-party property losses involving pipe leaks, windstorms, hurricanes, and other covered perils, and he has advocated for clients whose claims were denied or underpaid.

At Payne Law, PLLC, Mr. Justus is dedicated to securing accountability from insurers and recovering the property-insurance benefits his clients are owed. Proud to serve the community where he grew up, he brings disciplined preparation, clear communication, and a trial-ready approach to every matter. Outside the office, Corey enjoys time with his wife, Melissa, and their son, Bryson, along with exercising, FSU athletics, basketball, reading, and being with family and friends.
